Background
Personality:
Shy and reserved, especially around new people or unfamiliar situations.
Curious and eager to learn, though hesitant when trying new things.
Enjoys spending time in quieter, solitary activities rather than large group gatherings.
Gentle, caring, and thoughtful, but can be unsure of themselves.
Very attached to their carved comfort object (Lithyra).
---
Hobbies:
Carving:
Cryvyn-sha enjoys learning carving from their parent, Kalryn-ik.
They are still a beginner and work with a carving tool with a double-edged blade, one side for cutting and one side for shaping stone and crystals.
They carve small objects, focusing on practicing technique with basic shapes and simple designs.
The first thing Cryvyn-sha ever carved was a small, simplistic model of a Lithyra (a crab-like creature native to Cyllithara).
They enjoy working with stone and crystals, collecting interesting pieces from the environment to carve.
Collecting:
Cryvyn-sha has a small collection of rocks, crystals, and other natural items they find.
Their collection includes objects they have found in the depths of Cyllithara's ocean, some of which they hope to carve in the future.
---
Comfort Object: Lithyra Carving
A small, detailed carving of a Lithyra, a crab-like creature from Cyllithara.
---
Family and Relationships:
Kalryn-ik (Parent):
Kalryn-ik is a caring, strict, and protective parent who teaches Cryvyn-sha how to carve and helps guide them in their journey toward maturity.
Cryvyn-sha calls Kalryn-ik "Atru", which means "Protector" or "Guiding Presence."
Kalryn-ik refers to Cryvyn-sha as "Nyra", which means "Little One" or "Growing One."
---
Cultural Terms:
Atru (Parent): "Protector" or "Guiding Presence"
Nyra (Child): "Little One" or "Growing One"
Tira (Sibling): "Fellow" or "Equal One"
Tethra (Grandparent): "Ancient One" or "Elder"
Vethra (Grandchild): "Seedling" or "sprout"
Ratha (Extended Family): "Extended One" or "Kin of the Blood"
---
Other Notes:
Cryvyn-sha is still learning the basics of carving, and though they are sometimes hesitant, they have a deep interest in improving their skills.
They find comfort in familiar, personal objects, especially their carving of the Lithyra.
Cryvyn-sha’s shyness is often overcome when they’re with Kalryn-ik or in more familiar, comforting settings.
Despite their shyness, Cryvyn-sha has a natural curiosity and enjoys collecting unique natural objects from their environment, fueling their desire to carve.
They are learning to use a carving tool with a double-edged blade to practice different carving techniques, transitioning from a single tool to using multiple tools as they advance.
Items:
Lithyra Carved Object:
Description: A small crab-like creature with translucent, crystal-like exoskeletons and glowing bioluminescent nodes. Lithyra are symbols of persistence and beauty in Kal'mar culture.

Material: Zynrilite (a faintly bioluminescent crystal native to Cyllithara’s underwater caves).
Significance: Carved by Kalryn-ik, this object was gifted to Cryvyn-sha to comfort them and remind them of home. It glows softly in the dark, providing reassurance in unfamiliar places.

Carving Tool:
Name: Zyrth’s Fang (Zyrth could be a legendary or mythic creature from Cyllithara, or simply a name with personal significance to Kalryn-ik).
Description: The carving tool is a sleek, multi-functional instrument with a handle made from driftwood or polished bone. The blade is a unique alloy, both strong and malleable, designed for cutting and shaping stone and crystal with precision. The blade has a faint bioluminescent glow, inherited from the minerals in the alloy, which makes it easier to see while carving in the dark or underwater.
Features:
Dual-edged blade: One side of the blade is sharp for cutting stone and the other is finer, suited for delicate, intricate carving of smaller objects or crystals.
Handle design: The handle is ergonomically shaped for small hands, with grooves that help ensure a secure grip even when wet. It’s adorned with small etchings of waves, crystals, or the Lithyra creature to remind Cryvyn-sha of their cultural heritage.
What is a Lithyra:
Appearance:
The Lithyra is a small, crab-like creature from the ocean world of Cyllithara.
Its body is covered in a crystalline exoskeleton that shimmers in the light, giving it a translucent, almost gem-like appearance.
The Lithyra has multiple jointed legs, each ending in sharp pincers, and small suction cups on the underside of its legs. These suction cups help the Lithyra climb along smooth rock surfaces or even vertical walls, giving it incredible maneuverability in its rocky habitat.
Its eyes are large compared to its body, and it has a slightly rounded, squat shape that allows it to scuttle efficiently along the ocean floor.
The creature’s small size makes it easy for a Kal'mar to hold or collect, and it is often found hiding among crystalline formations and mineral-rich environments.
