Character Ribbons & Badges
Crew Recognition Ribbon
​
The ‘Crew Recognition’ ribbon is awarded to any officer who has been deemed an exceptional leader by his or her crew. The crew recognition award is one of the more highly respected awards available.
The Duty Station Offense Ribbon
​
The ‘Dutystation Offense’ ribbon is awarded for quality action in an offensive position.
The Duty Station Defense Ribbon
​
The ‘Dutystation Defence’ ribbon is awarded for quality action in a defensive position
The Unit Commendation Ribbon
​
The ‘Unit Commendation’ ribbon is awarded for good work within a team. This award is often attached to a position promotion. For example, for a fighter pilot, one might receive the ‘Unit Commendation’ ribbon when moving from a regular fighter pilot position to the squadron leader.
Delta Freedom Alliance Achievement Medal
​
Awarded to Delta Freedom Alliance personnel for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered specifically on behalf of the Delta Freedom Alliance. It may also be awarded for acts of heroism which do not meet the requirements for award of the Legion of Merit medal.
The Vulcan Assistance Ribbon
​
The ‘Vulcan assistance’ ribbon is awarded to an officer who has either done something to benefit the Vulcan race, or worked successfully in collaboration with members of the Vulcan government.
The Diplomatic Advance Ribbon
​
The ‘Diplomatic Advance’ ribbon is awarded to characters who improve a diplomatic situation.
Exploration Ribbon​
​
The Exploration ribbon is awarded to members who embody the spirit of exploration.
The Klingon Assistance Ribbon
​
The ‘Klingon assistance’ ribbon is awarded to an officer who has either done something to benefit the Klingon race, or worked successfully in collaboration with members of the Klingon military or government.
The Scientific Discovery Ribbon
​
The ‘Scientific Discovery’ ribbon is awarded when an officer (Most likely in the Medical or Science division) makes a scientific breakthrough, such as a disease cure.
The Q Service Ribbon
​
The 'Q Service Ribbon' awarded for meritorious effort in adventures involving a member of the Q continuum.
The Time Travelers' Award
​
The 'Time Travelers' award for meritorious action in a different time zone
The Creative Technology Applications Ribbon
​
The 'Creative Technology Applications' ribbon for application and innovation of known technology for solving an engineering dilemma.

The Investigative Service
​
The 'Investigative service' ribbon awarded to players character for solving a security-related mystery.
Innovation Ribbon​
​
This ribbon is for innovative ideas and applications during an adventure
Delta Freedom Alliance Commendation Medal
​
Awarded to members of Delta Freedom Alliance who, while serving in any capacity with the Delta Freedom Alliance, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique. Acts of courage which do not involve the voluntary risk of life may be considered for the Commendation award.
The Borg Combat Ribbon
​
The ‘Borg Combat’ ribbon is awarded for a quality performance during combat with the borg.
The Distinguished Combat Ribbon
​
The ‘Distinguished Combat’ ribbon is awarded for any quality combat work, and is considered superior to the ‘Dutystation offense’ and ‘Dutystation defense’ ribbons. This ribbon is not as sought after as the ‘Valor’ ribbon, but is one of the most respected awards.
Pilots Wings Ribbon
​
The ‘Pilots Wings’ ribbon can be awarded to ANY officer that has been certified to fly in a combat situation. The ‘Pilot Combat’ levels are only awarded to professional pilots (fighter pilots, helmsmen), **and are displayed WITH the ‘Pilots Wings’ ribbon.
The Special Forces Ribbon
​
The Special Forces Ribbon is awarded after a successful mission in collaboration with or under the direction of a unit such as the SSD (Special Forces Division)
Delta Heart
​
The 'Delta Heart' is awarded to a member of Delta Freedom Alliance who has suffered major or permanent injuries while showing extraordinary courage in the fulfilling of his or her duties while defending the Delta Freedom Alliances.
The Civilian Assistance and Civilian Bravery Ribbons
​
The ‘Civilian Assistance’ ribbon is awarded to civilians who aid the DFA.

The 'Civilian Bravery' Ribbon is awarded to civilians within the Delta Freedom Alliance who perform acts of bravery without thought for personal safety. Step up from the Civilian Assistance ribbon.
The Valor Cross Ribbon
​
The 'Valor Cross' is awarded to a person who, while serving in any capacity with Delta Freedom Alliance, distinguishes himself by bravery and valor above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the Delta Freedom Alliance; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed performed must have been so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades. The required self-sacrifice, while of a lesser degree than that required for the Delta Freedom Alliance Cross, must nevertheless have been performed with marked distinction.
Combat Injury Ribbon

The ‘Combat Injury’ ribbon is awarded to any officer who has been wounded in the line of duty.
The Away Team Command Ribbon
​
The ‘Away Team Command’ ribbon should be awarded after a character has successfully led an away team.
The Sacrifice Ribbon
The 'Sacrifice' Ribbon for Heroic character death in service of the DFA
Medical Aid
The 'Medical Aid' ribbon is awarded for providing aid in an emergency medical situation.

Junior Cadet Merit Badges
The Animal Friendship Badge​

Requirements:
Complete two of the following:
-
Be the long-term primary carer of a pet
-
Take a veterinary first aid course (6+)
-
Learn and write an essay about a specific species of animal (8+)
-
Draw a picture of your favourite animal and learn some facts to talk about (4-8)
OR
Help an animal or animals in some way on an away mission (any age), adventure or training program
The Childcare Badge (12+)

Requirements:
Complete two of the following:
-
Volunteer to help out in the nursery for at least one week.
-
Take a course of paediatric first aid
-
Offer to babysit or help look after a younger sibling.
The Rock Jumper Badge (6+)
Requirements:
Awarded by Twelve and Lumi for the Junior Cadet Rock Jumping course when they feel sufficient training has been completed to warrant each level. There are three levels in total. The third level is awarded to those who are qualified to rock jump without supervision (16+)
Levels 1 and 2 can also be awarded if rock jumping is used to help during an away mission or adventure.
The Programming Badge
Requirements:
Levels 1 - 2:

Complete a programming-based project that involves adapting existing software for a new purpose.

Use programming skills in a significant way to solve a problem on an away mission, adventure or training exercise.
Level 3:
-
Complete a programming based task that involves creating new software.
The Creative Writing Badge
Requirements:
Write a short story or poem about an adventure you have been on to read at El’s open mic night.
The Wilderness Survival Badge
Requirements:
Level 1 (5+): Go on a camping trip with adult supervision.
Level 2 (10+): Cook food for your whole camp using resources found in your environment (no tech). Can be done as a group. Adult supervision recommended.
Level 3 (16+): Attend and pass a DFA survival training course.
The Strange New Worlds Badge
Requirements:
Level 1: Learn and write about an alien culture different from your own.
Level 2: Visit a world that is not your homeworld, interact with the people there and engage in a cultural activity.
Level 3: Attend and pass a DFA Diplomatics course

Levels 1 and 2 can also be earned by using cultural or diplomatic understanding to help solve a problem during an away mission, training exercise or adventure.
The Mental Health Awareness Badge
Requirements:
Learn about a mental health condition, learning disability or neurodiversity and find out how you can better support and understand people, learning that we all think in different ways.
OR
Use what you know about mental health, learning disabilities or neurodiversities to help out on an away mission, adventure or training activity.
Leadership Badge
Requirements:
Level 1: Take on an additional responsibility on an away mission, training exersise or adventure in a responsible way that is helpful to your crewmates.
Level 2: Lead an away team on your own in a training exerise in the holodeck
Level 3: Attend and pass a DFA Command course
Medical Aid Badge
Requirements:
- Render first aid to fellow crewmember on an adventure or training mission, or find help from medical personele for the crewmember were applicable.
