Born in San Francisco to Jim and Jennifer Score, Kate experienced a stable and supportive upbringing. Early exposure to medicine through her mother fostered a deep understanding of trauma care and long-term recovery. From age 17 through her first century of life, she trained extensively in medical disciplines, developing clinical competence and a strong ethical framework.
At approximately 24 years of age, Kate underwent the Trill joining process, successfully integrating with her symbiont. The experience broadened her perspective and sharpened her sense of duty, blending the memories and instincts of previous hosts with her own emerging identity.

Shortly thereafter, a chance encounter with a Starfleet Marine detachment rekindled a long-standing desire for frontline service. She entered Starfleet Marine training and distinguished herself through discipline, endurance, and an exceptional commitment to personnel recovery.

Over the next 32 years, she completed five major combat missions with a perfect success and extraction record. Despite this, growing disillusionment with Starfleet bureaucracy and operational constraints led her to resign her commission.
Seeking a mission-driven alternative, Kate joined the Delta Freedom Alliance. By 2425, she serves as Assistant Chief Security Officer aboard the DFA Pridgy, where she applies her combined Marine, medical, and symbiotic experience to ship and crew protection.

Throughout this period, she has worked closely with her K9 partner, Arlo, whose presence has become integral to her operational effectiveness.
