ME'D recounting the assimilation of the colony he grew up on;

It just so happened to be my seventh birthday. everyone showed up. It was a beautiful celebration, the lights, the food, the celebrations, the games, the fellowship with one another. Until the Borg showed up and...
We knew the risks of being so close to Borg space, but we did it anyway. The Borg wiped out everyone. My parents were part of the planetary defense team and had advanced warning and they stuffed me in our "Borg shelter." I was the only survivor of a colony of greater than 2500. My parents taught me what to do in the event of a Borg invasion. I was picked up by DFA QRT four days after the invasion and raised as an orphan.
I joined the Academy as soon as I could to try and find a way to destroy the Borg. Only to have my first post.... with the Borg"
