Background Information
Valen was augmented as part of an illegal experiment conducted somewhere within the Gamma Quaderant. While Valen does not know the names of the individuals involved, there are two main suspectes, a human woman named Odessa Belmont and a Vulcan man named Solen.

Valen escaped in a shuttle that was accidentally pulled through a Borg transwarp conduit and took refuge from his damaged shuttle in the Vulcan Science ship Kuvak, after the crew had been assimilated, before eventually being found by Prodigy's away team.
