<Stardate 2423.06 - Six of Twelve>
Dropper and Ohana returned to Prodigy, with Yel S'Hirt piloting Dropper, carrying Siril, and Red S'Hirt piloting Ohana and carrying the rescue equiptment, the children, animals and the rest of the away team. Ohana experienced some turbulance during takeoff due to enviromental disturbances in the 9th Planet's atomsphere, most likely caused by the Collective's Chosens' shields and weaponry. The turbulance however was minimal and we expeirenced no trouble once outside of the atmosphere. Dropper experienced considerably more turbulance as a result of the damage it had sustained and lost power to reverse thrusters, meaning Yel could not land cleaningly into Prodigy's shuttle bay. Instead, Prodigy was angled to recieve Dropper, allowing Yel to 'bounce' in. The bounce maneuver was executed well, but did cause some minor injuries for Yel and Siril. The Ohana crew was undamged, other than hunger and dehydration from the children and animals. The children, animals and the away team were taken to sickbay to eat and be examined by Me'D and a new unit, designated Drake Miller, who will be serving as Prodigy's nurse. Drake Miller arrived during shoreleave and has met Kit and Banor, but this is the first time Six of Twelve had processed him directly.
In sickbay, Siril and Yel were placed in a seperate room from the rest of the crew, were we heard them discussing future plans for consuming food together. According to our time with Brinn, this may be part of a mating ritual common to humans, or they may simply wish for companionship while they eat. Further observation is required to know which, but Unit noted that their heart rates increase when they talk, which suggests the prior, as this always happened to Brinn when he invited over his special friends for food.
Tas examined Melina's cat, who has been designated 'Jordan'. The exact species of the cat is unknown to the DFA database and the Borg have not encountered his kind either, but Tas' scans suggest he is between 4 and 5 months old and will likely grow to the size of an Earth house cat, though may be more wild in his nature as he is not a domestic animal. Tas has advised weekly checkups with Jordan and Melina has taken responsibility for his care.
We have another new unit onboard Prodigy, designated 2nd Leiutenant Kate Lynn Score. She is a marine and an exchange officer from the Union. Legate Das has stated his intentions of an alliance with Prodigy. We did not know it was possible to have an alliance with a single ship and not a whole collective, though it appears it may be with collectives of individuals. DFA Command is still proccessing the Union's application for enterence to the DFA as a whole.
The day after all units were cleared from sickbay, we had an awards ceramony. Many badges and ribbons were awarded and Siril was promoted to Lt Commander, Me'D was promoted to Leiutenant J.G and Chief Medical Officer, RJ12 was promoted to Corperal and Dr Saran was promoted to Leiutenant. Kit also provided Red S'Hirt with a letter recommending his promotion to Leiutenant. We thought the ceramony was over but Banor called everyone to attention at the end and promoted Kit to Captain.
