<Stardate 2423.06 - Captain Kit Taylor>

An away team consisting on Colonel MarQ, Dr Saran, Corperal RJ 12, Cadet Hazelilly and Dr Siril were sent to investigate the Vulcan ship, Kuvak. They discovered evidence of Borg activity, including assimilated consoles, but Prodigy's Collective confirmed the Collective were not currently in the area. Later evidence from logs recovered from the Kuvak show the crew had been assimilated and the Captain, Captain Nuvek, who was an xB, commited suiside, either to prevent the Borg from gaining access to his secret projects, or simply to avoid reassimilation. Twelve, Saran and Lumi found an unconcious and severely dehydrated teenage boy while they were investigating the bridge. Meanwhile, Banor's team found evidence of cruel and unethical experiments that had been conducted aboard the ship on live subjects. The Colonel also found a mysterious box, protected by a type of shielding he recognised from a mission with the KTF. The Colonel immediatly ended the away mission, believing the box was a threat and the teams, along with the boy, returned to Prodigy. The Cargo Box was locked in Cargo Bay 3 with a level 10 forecfeild in place.

The boy's name is Valen Ahren and he is an augment with enhanced intellegence and telekentic abilities. He was treated by Me'D and is now in El's cafe with Mia, under the survailance of Lt Score. Valen appears to have escaped the people responsible for augmenting him and, from what Me'D found, abusing him, by stealing a shuttle. The team who experimented on Valen may be somewhere in the Gamma Quaderant, according to our current intellegence, but we are still investigating for more details. Valen appears to have accidentally been sucked into a Borg transwarp conduit, presumably by the same ship that assimilated the Kuvak and saught refuge on the Kuvak after the Borg had left. Valen is reluctant to talk about the people who were holding him, either that or he genuinly doesn't know who they were. Either way, Colonel MarQ is currently investigating so we hope to have more information about them soon, which may be vital as Valen indicated they would be looking for him. Valen is sixteen years old and has sought asylum with the DFA, so he will be staying aboard Prodigy for the forceiable future, as he has indicated his parents are dead.

Prodigy's Collective processed the data the away team brought back and found that the Kuvak's logs did not perfectly match those Nuvek had sent to Vulcan High Command. It would appear he and an individual named Dr Urel, had been conducting several unethical experiments without the knowledge of Vulcan High Command, including experiments involving a maturation chamber and a neonatal drone. They also had several adult drones onboard, who quickly multiplied, assimilating those 'containing' them. It would appear this was what had attracted the attention of the Collective. Dr Urel was working on a classified project and had been transported by the Kuvak to a location known only as 'Outpost 36'.

With the possibility of a baby still onboard the Kuvak, a second away team was sent for recovery. This away team consisted only on Banor, Four and Red and because Prodigy seems to be old unlce Murphy's favourate ship, of course they found a maturation chamber with a neonatal drone inside. The baby was taken back to Prodigy and has underwent surgery to remove non-vital implants. Me'D performed the surgery with the help of Six of Twelve and Four of Seven. I would not ordinarily remove implants without consent, but as the neonate is 18 months old, she could not really give consent and removing her implants was the only way we could realistically maintain her on Prodigy without the maturation chamber, since she's too young to regenerate. Most of her exoplating has been removed, but she has kept her interlink nodes and neural tranciever and of course the trillions of nanites. There's no getting rid of them. I have looked for her family, using both facial and DNA records and have searched through both DFA and Federation sources but have yet to find anything so I have decided to keep her and have named her Myriad. She is in the nursery in an incubation chamber at the moment while her skin recovers from the exoplate removal. I have not told Neilson and Sally about their new sister yet, just in case news of her family does come to light but I've decided I will tell them when she's released from sickbay.

Further assesment of the data by Dr Saran, Dr Siril and C7 lead to the discovery of the mysery box's contents, which we have now opened and it feels a little like I've opened Pandora's Box because of the history that came with it. Inside the box was an android child, similar to C7 but inactive and, according to Saran, missing key componants needed to function. Saran says this is a 'D Class' android and was a project of an old rival of his, the Dr Urel mentioned in the logs. Apparantly Dr Urel wanted to create androids similar to C7, but with the purpose of infiltration. C7's name was no acccident. She is in fact the 7th of her series, the other 6 of Saran's android children went missing 8 years ago. Saran now suspects Urel might be to blame and if that is the case, there may be 6 android children in need of our help on Outpost 36. A third trip to the Kuvak has thus been organised. This time consisting of Dr Saran, Red, Unit and Commander French.

Dr Saran is in a data terminal room collecting what he can in the hopes of finding the location of Outpost 36. He found an access pannel that he sent Unit into. Unit found a PaDD inside which she has now returned to Saran. Unit also decided to collect nutrient fluid from the maturation chamber for Myriad.

Banor has been driving me insane with his over-protective attitude towards me, particularly since the Regression. He has been monitoring the location of the whole crew constantly with Prodigy's sensors, which caused some misunderstanding when I believed he was actually watching the crew. That was, thankfully, not the case but he has been using certain members of the crew (particularly Me'D) to spy on me and has been having them report my personal conversations to him. If I had more evidence, I would be considering reporting Me'D for a HIPPA violation because the conversation he reported to Banor had to do with my condition, but instead, well, Banor and I got into an argument. I really hope it will have resolved the issue. I know he means well and I know he has a sense of duty regarding those in command, but I cannot tollerate being treated like a child, particularly if his insistance on fussing over me puts the actual children at risk.

In the end I had to give him a direct order to back off. Well, more specifically, I gave him a direct order to prirortise the children, the real children and to stop having the crew spy on me. I know he'll listen to that at least, because Banor would never disobey a direct order, but it hurt me to have to give it. To have to order someone I thought was my friend to trust me. I miss the way Banor was before I got command of Prodigy, or even before the Regression. I felt like we were equels then, and we trusted eachother. I felt like he always had my back. Now I feel like he thinks of me as nothing more than a duty to protect. I can't help but blame Eldar for making him even more paranoid than he already was.

I want to talk to him again, but I have a feeling that would do more harm than good, so for now I am leaving it. Six is in the holodeck with him though (he's not the only one who knows how to use Prodigy's sensors) so maybe they are talking about it? Would that even help though? Six probably won't understand me either. The Borg are not exactly known for their sense of privacy. Ugh. I would like to throw Eldar MarQ out of an airlock right now.

On lighter news, it would appear Siril and Yel are indeed in some kind of relationship and judging by the way they're always smiling at their PaDDs, its going well, though reading Six's logs, I do feel rather sorry for Siril as it appears Unit has been asking her questions about the 'birds and the bees'. Personally, I plan on directing Neilson to his father when those questions come up but then again, a lot of the cadets are coming to the age where kids get curious about that sort of thing, so maybe I should just ask Siril to run a sex-ed class. No... she'd probably kill me. I'll ask Me'D instead. That ought to be fair punishment for the HIPPA violation...
