2426.05 - Six of Twelve, Secondary Adjunct of Unimatrix 11 - Begin Log

Six of Twelve, Four of Seven, Five of Nine, Unit, Seven, Lyra and half of Nemesis are in a Cardassian restaurant with our guide, Rutel. Unit ate a sweet bun, before continuing to persist in her quest to gain information from Rutel about Seven’s family. After some discussion, an exchange was made: we provided Rutel with the answer to her questions about Seven (namely, how we found her, what had been done to her and by whom) in exchange for Rutel finding her relatives.

Rutel took a DNA sample from Seven and located her family almost immediately. The Cardassian database of citizens is apparently very efficiently organised. Initially, Rutel asked to take Seven to meet her family alone, saying it would be ‘improper’ for the rest of us to be present, but Unit refused and insisted that we all go. So now we are all going.

While Rutel and Unit were talking, Nemeses and Six of Twelve experimented with the reactions of the other people at the restaurant to Nemeses’ present. We noted elevated heart rates when individuals could see Nemeses but were interested in collecting data regarding whether or not this could be triggered simply by its vicinity, even when it was unobserved. Our experiment was interrupted when we had to leave, however, but our initial results indicate that conducting further study may be worthwhile. Since we expect the Skin of Evil is unassimilatable (having no circulatory system), the Collective would find data on its abilities useful. The DFA may also find this data useful as it pertains to the mission to “seek out new life”.

While this group was with Rutel, Colonel MarQ, Lt Commander Heter, Ambassador Magar, Dr Saran and the other half of Nemeses were being shown to the diplomatic representatives by Galek. Galek suggested they go to their quarters first. Apparently this was some kind of insult. We do not understand, but Galek apologised. The group was lead into the diplomatic chambers and introduced to Jagul Lehel and Kaled. While everyone was being seated, another Cardassian man in military uniform entered, whom Colonel MarQ recognised as having been seen with Ambassador Magar before.
